The plain version. There is nothing buried here, and nothing that takes anything away from you.
What's yours stays yours
The memories people share and the biography written from them belong to you and to the people who contributed them. We claim no rights over any of it, we don't use it to advertise anything, and you can take a full copy whenever you want.
What the software does
It interviews the people you invite, writes down what they say, and arranges those memories into one continuous story. It does not invent events, names or dates — everything in a biography comes from something a person actually said. It can still get emphasis, order or tone wrong, so read it before you share it. You approve every memory before it appears.
Who you can make a memorial for
Someone you have a genuine connection to. Please only invite people you'd be comfortable approaching in person about this, and don't use a memorial to publish anything about someone that they or their family wouldn't want published.
People you invite
Contributors are guests. They don't need an account, they can decline any question, and they can ask for their contribution to be removed. If you invite someone, you're the one who decides what appears in the biography — so treat what they share as something lent to you.
Paying
A memorial costs a single payment. There's no subscription and no cap on how many people you invite. If something goes wrong on our side and you don't get what you paid for, write to us and we'll put it right.
Ending it
You can delete a memorial at any time. It's hidden immediately, held for thirty days in case you didn't mean it, then permanently erased along with everything in it. If we ever have to close a memorial — because it's being used to harass someone, for instance — we'll tell you why and give you the chance to export everything first.
If we shut down
We'll give you 90 days' notice and an export of everything before anything is switched off. A memorial should outlast the company hosting it.
What we can't promise
We can't guarantee the site is never unavailable, and we can't be responsible for what contributors choose to write. What we can promise is that we won't lose your memorial quietly, and that you can always take a copy out.
